If you are in Nagahole go for kabini River lodge

Touring, holidaying & visiting new destinations have always fascinated me. I like to book things in advance,
It saves money on one hand & gives me ample time to read about destination so when I go there I feel like I already know the place.

This summer I searched for cool place in south India. As my niece has got married recently & has been staying in Bangaluru so I googled things around it & finalized my tour for Mysore, Kabini (Nagarhole national park) & Marcara (Coorg).
Kabini, the river, is lined by various wild life sanctuaries & lot of resorts like Orange County, kings sanctuary etc. I chose Kabini river lodge over them as it take you in forests two times in a day using jeep, elephant or Boat safari.

As I landed there, I was amazed by beauty & maintenance of resort, believe me it didn’t appears like any government run place. I apologized to myself because I booked it for one night only.
In the mid of resort ,there are large lawns of several acres which are surrounded by various types of heritage bungalows , in them rooms for accommodation are available . River runs on one side of the property, I booked a tent accommodation, these &Cottages are riverside. In tent they provide 3 beds. So my kids of 7 & 5 years were accommodated easily without any extra cost. In package they provide all three meals, tea &snacks in addition to the safaris.
Kettle & material for tea & coffee are also provided in each type of rooms.

In addition there is a Bar where you can buy drinks on nominal cost,

A theatre & library entertain you if you want. Overall whole experience was very- very good.
I woke up in morning 5.30 AM & wandered inside resort. It was wonderful & after tea at 6.30 AM we proceeded for Boat safari. For whole of 3 hours we enjoyed nature in its resplendent beauty. River runs through various forests like Nagarhole, Bandipur & Wynnade
We saw varieties of birds, water animals & wild animals that come to riverside for water. Experience was so lively beyond words.
Evening we went for Jeep safari & visited Rajeev Gandhi national park, Nagarhole. That was also interesting tour, we saw wild oxens, wild elephants, leopard & types of deers, Guide & driver was very cooperative & knowledgeable. .Solitude in deep forest blessed you, something so serene as beyond the world experience..

harsil heaven at uttranchal

Uttranchal isolated from Uttar Pradesh just only couple of years ago. The beautiful hilly state gives origin to prominent & important rivers of India. Iced caped peaks, thick forests & rivers flow with
rattling rapids, invites you to make a relationship with nature.
Several destinations here offer solitude & make you amazed, Hersil is one of them, it is just 22 km short from Gangotri. It is an army area; clean & disciplined, nature here is ready to give you a wonderful experience.
For stay only few options are available here but a rest house of GNVM is worthy to stay & it pass on a beautiful view of Bhagirathi to you. Balconies of rooms overlook the river; it flows musically & leaves you to enjoy its sounds for rest of your halt.
First day we went for Gangotri, beautiful pilgrim station. We took dip in ice cold water, look around for various viewable points & got blessings at temple; from here we could go to Gomukh but it needs trekking of 12 km. As kids accompanied us were too young to trek, so that was escaped by us.
Second day we just roamed with river towards the hills from rest house. Whole trek was amazing, many hilly villages, ponds& cascade of water came across during our trekking.
Rooms are good at rest house. In restaurant here you can buy food on order but we preferred outside Dhabas there we served with nice spicy Chinese dishes.
I drove myself & distance from Delhi to Hersil is considerable so I broke my journey at Dhanaulty. There are two routes for Hersil from here, one is Rishikesh –Chamba – Uttrakashi another is Dehradun – mussorie- Dhanaulty - & then Chamba. Both meters equal to me.
